pH Information:

• The pH of this formula is approximately 3.6, and Glycolic Acid has a pKa of 3.6.
• pKa is the most important aspect to consider when formulating with acids because it implies the acid's availability.
• When pKa is close to pH, there is an ideal balance between salt and acidity, maximizing the effectiveness of the acid while reducing irritation.
• Higher pH levels would increase the salt concentration, which can make the formula more irritating, even though it might seem less acidic

Note on Exfoliating Acids:

• While exfoliating acids offer quick visible benefits, indirect forms of exfoliation are generally recommended over direct forms like this one due to the potential for inflammation and sensitivity.
• Consider alternatives such as NIOD’s Non-Acid Acid Precursor for a gentler approach to exfoliation.
• 

Directions:

1. Frequency: Use in the PM, no more than once per day.
2. Application: After cleansing, saturate a cotton pad with the formula and sweep it across the face and neck.
3. Avoid Areas: Do not apply on sensitive, peeling, or compromised skin. Avoid the eye contour and direct contact with eyes.
4. Do Not Rinse: Leave the product on; do not rinse off.
5. Continue Skincare: Follow with additional skin treatments as needed.
6. Patch Test: Prior to use, patch testing is recommended.
7. If Irritation Occurs: Stop use immediately and consult a physician.
